OA
Troop/Team Representative Program
The OA Troop/Team Representative Program was founded in 1999 by the National
OA Executive Committee, and approved by the National Boy Scout Committee thereafter.
This is the first year it will be formally adopted by Tipisa Lodge, Central
Florida Council, and Tosohatchee Chapter. The OA Troop/Team Rep is a youth liaison
position serving between Tipisa Lodge/Tosohatchee Chapter, and his unit. In
his unit, he will serve as a communication and programmatic link to, and from,
Arrowmen, adult leaders, and Scouts who are not presently members of the Order.
He will do this in a fashion that strengthens the mission of Tipisa, the ideals
of the Order, and the purpose of the Boy Scouts of America. By setting a good
example, he will enhance the image of the Order as a service arm to his unit.
Tosohatchee, and Tipisa, will be extensively utilizing the OA Troop/Team Representative
Program in the near future in order to carry out functions such as elections,
communication, and requests for assistance in service projects. However, this
will benefit the troop as well, because it can let the Lodge and Chapter become
aware of the needs of our troops, thus allowing us to serve them. The structure
of this program is as follows: The Lodge has a Chairman, and in his committee,
he has 1 rep from each chapter. That Chapter Rep is responsible for organizing
every troop/team in his chapter, ensuring that each troop/team has an OA Rep.
The Chapter Rep is also responsible for ensuring that every troop is informed.
For more information, contact your Chapter Chief, Chris
Marchese, his Adviser, Glen Ward,
your Scout Master, or the Tipisa OA Troop/Team Representative Program Chairman,
Matt Collins.
